Suzy Ihnat, Founder & Principal Consultant
Suzy Ihnat is a veteran executive in the private club industry with over 20 years of experience leading racquet sports and fitness operations at premier facilities. Her career is defined by her unique ability to bridge the gap between board-level strategy and operational excellence, ensuring that amenities serve as high-value assets for the community.
Suzy Ihnat is a nationally respected racquets and club executive with more than 22 years of experience leading high-performance programs in the private club industry. She has led teams and operations at platinum-level, top-tier clubs in Atlanta (Ansley Golf Club and Druid Hills Golf Club) and most recently in Naples, Florida, where she served as Director of Athletics at Quail West Country Club.
Her background spans both member-owned equity clubs and management company–operated properties, giving her a rare understanding of how governance, culture, and financial realities intersect. Suzy is fluent in the distinct dynamics between high-end, nonprofit, best-in-class clubs and those working to stabilize operations, and she tailors leadership strategies that align vision, culture, and financial health for each environment.
As a coach developer, Suzy is known for her ability to spot and grow leadership talent. She brings a 360° coaching perspective, helping professionals become more confident and capable while building practical skills, improving productivity, and fostering trust on their teams. A particular area of expertise is designing individualized growth plans that help professionals identify their strengths, clarify their “zone of genius,” and move intentionally toward their next level of impact.
Strategically, Suzy is highly skilled in creating comprehensive strategic and business plans that define clear priorities, measurable goals, and shared accountability. She has deep experience presenting master facility plans, guiding Boards of Directors, and building consensus across management, boards, and membership at large. Her work is known for creating traction and momentum—not just reports that sit on a shelf.
Operationally, Suzy has overseen racquets, athletics, and wellness budgets exceeding $2 million, building financial fluency within her teams and using KPIs to define performance, value, and long-term strategy. Her expertise includes best-practice SWOT analysis, facilities management, reserve studies, capital improvement planning, project management, and ongoing investment in staff training and development.
Suzy’s leadership philosophy centers on trust, clarity, and follow-through. She balances innovation with disciplined execution so that programs remain financially sustainable while delivering exceptional member experiences.
An accomplished racquets professional, Suzy holds multiple professional designations, including Certified Racquet Sports Executive (CRSE), RSPA Elite Professional, RSPA Padel, RSPA Pickleball, and PPR Pickleball certifications. A former Division I athlete, she competed for George Mason University on both athletic and academic scholarships and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Decision Sciences and Management Information Systems—an analytical foundation that underpins her data-driven approach to strategy and operations.
“Suzy Ihnat is a dynamic leader in the racquets, fitness and recreation space. She is comfortable in both “on and off court” managerial duties, a member-centric director with a strong team orientation, high “club IQ”, and well-developed communication skills.
She effectively balances her acute understanding of industry trends with a genuine respect for traditional and mainstream activities. In short, Suzy has an inherent ability to enhance any management team.”
